For the people of Catania the Bellini garden is simply put a ‘Villa’, a place of recreation, relaxation, walks and meetings.
The villa occupies, as a whole, an area of 70,942 square meters within which are arranged flower beds, squares for sporting and musical events, benches for resting and reading, shaded boulevards and fountains.
Its location is lovely. Two hills, which rise in the center are divided by a large square, overlooking much of the city, the expanse of the sea and the majestic Etna;
Because of this diversity of views that it offers, the Garden of Catania is considered as one of the best in Europe.
It has a large botanical heritage consisting of 106 species of plants mainly of exotic origin; there are several centenarians specimens, with all their majesty they make more than a fine garden.
Since recent years the Bellini park welcomes prestigious performances that enliven the evenings of Catania for both Italian and foreign visitors alike.
